New life
I used to use this spot to send messages to my CIW students. Those days are long gone and I find myself learning about mobile web design now. This should be an awesome experience. Looking forward to it!

Congratulations to our CIW exam successes!
I am so proud of our CIW exam passers! You did great! I hope that you are celebrating an awesome accomplishment!
If you did not pass the exam this time, please don’t be bummed. These exams are difficult. If you were close in score and you wish to retest soon, you can take the CIW exams at any Vue or Prometric Center. Visit their websites for additional information.
Another option might be to retake the WEB certification course next semester and take the CIW exam again at PSCC next April. It’s up to you.
Again, congratulations to our CIW exam passers!
To everyone, have a joyous holiday season! I’ll see you next semester!
OK, SATURDAY EXAM TAKERS! IT IS YOUR TURN TODAY!
I will see you later today! Good luck to you! I am behind you cheering you on!
OK. It’s time to get serious about jumping into all of this CIW material and studying! The countdown had started. This week is critical in getting ready for your CIW exam later this week. Please use this week wisely in prepping by taking practice tests, studying, watching the cramsession slides (on the course content page under resources), and reviewing your textbook.
If you have questions about the exam itself, you can find loads of information at http://www.ciwcertified.com/certifications/program.asp. Click on the links on the left of the screen and check out your exam. You’ll find information like how many questions, passing grade, etc.
I am here if you need help and I look forward to seeing you all later this week when you come to take the exam. I’m cheering for you!
Just checking with you this afternoon regarding your study for the CIW exam next week. I know it is a crazy time of the semester for everyone (even for teachers), but I do want you to take some time each day to take some of the practice tests at the CIW site:
http://www.certification-partners.com/cciivv/CIW-Online/index.html
You will be glad you did!
Welcome back to our preparation for CIW exams (next week)! I hope you had a wonderful and wonder full break!
How many practice tests have you taken at http://www.certification-partners.com/cciivv/CIW-Online/index.html ? If you have ventured into this site, you have found CIW’s own practice tests designed to prepare you for the SORTS of questions you’ll see next week. Please, please take some time to explore these tests.
If you come across some particularly difficult material that you need your colleagues to help you with, post to the discussion board. You have been good to support each other in your co-requisite courses so let’s continue that tradition here, OK?
Please let me know if I can help you in any way!
I just wanted to check in today to make sure everyone survived the shopping onslaught today called Black Friday. I am exhausted after shopping all day with my 89-year-old mother and my 15-year-old niece. I need a vacation!
Study hard as you find a minute here and there! I know you are using this time wisely to prep for the exam.
I will be offline tomorrow, Saturday, but I will be back up and running on Sunday. I will talk to you then. Enjoy your break!
Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!!
I hope that you CIW certification seekers are enjoying the lack of responsibility in your co-requisite courses! It is nice to have time set aside to study and review, no? I know you will have many extra tasks over the Thanksgiving break, but I do wish you some free time to keep up your preparation for the CIW exam. December 10th or 11th will be here before we know it!
During this season when we take a minute to remember our blessings, I am grateful to have a job where I can see people work together creatively to study the mind-boggling whirl of technology that web designers need to learn. We have chosen a challenging but exciting field of study. It never gets stale and I am thankful for that.
I wish you a happy and restful Thanksgiving break! “See” you back here on Monday!
Good question! Now that you have completed all of the requirements for your companion course, you will spend the rest of the semester in this one-hour certification preparation course. Our purpose here is to give you a much needed break from other course responsibilities so you can concentrate on studying to take the CIW exam in a couple of weeks.
The first order of business is to make sure that you are registered at 3 sites:
A. The CIW online assessment site
http://www.vcampus.com/cciivv/CIW-Online/index.html
B. The CIW testing site:
https://www.vcampus.com/ctconline-ciw/pages/login.action
C. Sign up for a CIW exam date/time:
http://doodle.com/2rvdtiwacnzcs34h
If you have done these, pat yourself on the back. Go on. Pat yourself on the back. You are doing great!
The second order of business is to study like crazy! You have several ways to do this:
1. Review your textbook. Return to areas that gave you trouble the first time through.
2. Take online practice tests at the CIW online assessment site (letter A above). These tests are developed by the same people who designed the CIW exam, so they should be similar. Not the same questions, but similar. You can take these online tests as often as you like. The more you practice, the more you will discover the intent of the questions.
3. Take the practice tests here in this course. You can take these quizzes as many times as you like.
The only grades you will receive in this course are for the 4 graded quizzes that you will find on the QUIZZES page in this course AND a grade for your performance on the CIW exam. You do not have to pass the CIW exam to pass this course, but you do have to attempt the exam AND take the 4 graded quizzes. Fair enough?
I will let you get to work. As always, please let me know if I can help you in any way.
